Lawrence Mahar has been practicing Uechi-ryu Karate-do since
1967 and has been teaching the art of Uechi Karate in Allegan since 1969. His original instructor was William
Keith of Kalamazoo and he continued his training under James Thompson who took over the Kalamazoo dojo in the early 1980's.
In the mid 1990's Mr. Mahar affiliated himself with Walter Mattson with whom he had trained periodically since the early 1970's.
While time, distance, and other obligations have prevented Mr. Mahar from training with any of these three instructors
for a number of years, he wishes to thank all of them for their contributions to his study of Uechi-ryu Karate-do.
